Most of our stories start quietly. Sid did not. He started on the seafront at Dawlish Warren, where a very bold seagull swooped in and made off with a chip right out of a paper cone — and the idea for a character was born.
From a nuisance to a character
It would have been easy to write Sid as the villain. Instead, he became something warmer: greedy, a little bit lazy, but impossible not to root for.
