My Story

I’m Kerry Baker, and I write and illustrate the Kind Lemur books. Every story starts at home — I write it, draw it, and read it aloud until it feels right — made with the same care I’d want in any book on a child’s own shelf.

I try to make my stories gentle on purpose. Each one is built to do a little more than entertain: to help children grow their kindness, confidence and curiosity without it ever feeling like a lesson. Look out for our dogs, Jenson and Max, who turn up as characters across the books — and even star in a story of their own.
